Xueyuan Liang

I joined the Department of Geography (VUB) in October 2023 as a PhD candidate. I hold a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in landscape architecture. My Master's thesis focused on the spatial evaluation of the supply-demand of water-related ecosystem services in urban green spaces. Now I join the Cartography and GIS research group to strengthen my research skills.

My main research interests lie in the cultural ecosystem services, peri-urban green infrastructures, and the use of crowdsourced data. My PhD research will analyze the relationship between recreational behaviors and cultural ecosystem services of peri-urban green infrastructures using social media data.
