Biography
I joined the Department of Geography (VUB) in October 2022 as a PhD candidate in urban remote sensing and urban ecology. I obtained my BSc in Geographic Information Science (Hebei Normal University, China) in June 2017 and my MSc in Ecology (UCAS, China) in June 2021, with a thesis on assessing the dynamics of land degradation and its driving mechanisms in northern China. After that, I worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research (CAS, China), doing research on lake and river mapping worldwide. Now, I am a member of the CGIS research group at VUB.
My research focuses on detailed mapping of urban trees and their ecosystem services in Brussels, using multi-source remote sensing data and deep learning.
