Biography
I am a research faculty member at the VUB, affiliated with the Cartography and GIS research group of the Geography Department. My research is on the development and innovative use of geospatial techniques to the field of public health, specifically: (1) modeling and visualization of vector-borne diseases outbreaks; (2) geostatistical modeling of environmental risks and innovative ways to communicate these risks to remote populations; (3) estimating access care with a particular focus on residential mobility. I use both Python and R programming languages in my research. At the VUB, I am particularly interested in using geospatial techniques to estimate access to green and blue infrastructures.
